Fall is around the corner, meaning it is time for San Marin’s annual Homecoming parade.
“It’s a successful tradition that gets Novato excited about the fall, football, and the whole idea,” Liz Lloyd, San Marin’s leadership teacher, said.
San Marin cheerleader Sophia Babler credits the school’s devotion to the parade’s success.
“We spend lots of time and devotion on our floats, adding as much spirit and festivity as possible,” Babler said.
“The Homecoming parade adds levity and gives people a chance to get together with their teammates, but also people with clubs, and simply just a festive atmosphere,” Lloyd said.
Many people who attend the homecoming parade are typically family members, alumni, or residents. They all show up in support of San Marin, creating a welcoming/inviting atmosphere.
San Marin takes a lot of time and hard work to build and display the floats. These floats include multiple fall sports teams, classes, and clubs.
“All of the groups had well-decorated floats. The students worked really hard,” Sophomore Kaylee Davis said.
Overall, San Marin’s homecoming parade fosters a friendly and close-knit neighborhood through shared experiences. This includes cheering on the court, our fall sports teams, leadership, and club floats, or simply to support San Marin, all in one place.
