On Saturday, Mar. 30, the Spring Fling Dance took place. It was filled with upbeat music, colorful decorations, and a lively atmosphere. Leading up to the dance was a spirit week and rally where students showcased their Mustang spirit.
Leadership student, sophomore Sienna Giddings, helped create the spirit days and make the dance a memorable experience.
“A lot of work goes into it, especially putting up the decorations and thinking of a good theme,” Giddings said.
The spirit week and rally that took place before the dance were a delight for numerous students. Every day there was a different theme where students dressed up to get spirit points and show support for the school. Sophomore Natalia Green appreciates the unity that spirit days bring.
“I dress up for spirit days because it’s a fun way to show support for your school. As we come together to dress up, it shows that we are one big family,” Green said.
The rally consisted of various entertaining activities and a drum battle between juniors Ryan Remak and Nelly Grasso and social studies teacher Michael Spinrad. Freshman Landenn Santiago especially enjoyed the rally activities.
“I had a great time at the rally and the spirit days are fun to participate in,” Santiago said.
The dance was packed with students dancing and singing along to their favorite songs, including freshman Sophia Vitorelo.
“The dance was very fun, I had a great time with my friends,” Vitorelo said.
For some students, Spring Fling was the first dance they attended. Freshman Emmanuel Gomez was pleasantly surprised.
“I went to the dance to see how it was. I had a great time with my friends, especially playing cornhole,” Gomez said.
