Blacksteer Steakhouse and Saloon
The bar and background music were very loud, but the ambiance was nice because of the dimmed lighting and fancy cutlery. They are still training staff, but the service was quick. The crab and mozzarella hush puppies had a crispy breading and a creamy, delicious filling. The butter steak was tender and excellent. The steakhouse chili had ample steak cubes and a bit of a kick, but paired well with the sweet, dense cornbread. Dishes were on the pricier side ($15-$30), but were worth it in my opinion.
La Maison De La Reine
We were seated at our table immediately. It was quiet and peaceful, and there weren’t many people. The menu had a wide selection of food, including pork, chicken, tofu, soups, and salads. The staff was attentive—three different waiters asked if we where ready to order—and friendly. We ordered the banh mi, which consisted of pork, chopped pickled cucumbers, carrots, pate, jalapeños, and mint. We also ordered the yellow curry chicken, which came with squash, carrots, and a side of rice. Neither were spicy and both were good, but it took them a while to bring me my sandwich. Dishes ranged from $10-$20.
