Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
“Little Women follows the lives of four sisters after the Civil War. The girls have a strong relationship that persists through the trials of girlhood, and eventually adulthood. One of the main conflicts is between two of the sisters, Amy and Jo, who have the same love interest. Even though it causes a rift in their relationship, their love for each other gets them through it. I love reading it around the holidays because it reminds me of how strong my relationships with my sister and cousins are.”

Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
“The best holiday book is Murder on the Orient Express. It’s fast paced and incredibly readable. The novel takes place on a train traveling from Istanbul to London. When the train becomes snowed in during the journey, Detective Hercule Poirot is forced to contemplate the morality of murder.”
