Drama teacher Christina Stroeh fills in for the spring semester

There is a new teacher teaching Drama this spring semester. Linda Kislingbury, who taught drama for 19 years, retired at the end of the fall 2018 semester.

Christina Stroeh is now teaching Advanced Drama, which was previously taught by  Kislingbury, as well as Beginning Drama as a temporary fill in for Margaret Hee.

“I came in to teach one semester while the school finds a young, enthusiastic drama teacher who wants to work in the new theater when it is built,”  Stroeh said.

Stroeh attended San Diego State University but then transferred to Dominican University. She has a double major in Music and Theater. Stroeh was born in Novato and attended Marion Elementary School, Hill and Sinaloa Middle Schools, and then San Marin High School.

For the past 27 years, Stroeh has been teaching at Terra Linda and San Rafael

High School.

She taught Beginning and Advanced Drama, Choir, Jazz Choir and Leadership at Terra Linda High and also taught at San Rafael High for 10 years. There, she taught Drama, Choir and Leadership.

Health teacher Cory Boyd had Stroeh as an Advanced Drama teacher at San Marin.

“She has a way of being really encouraging and supportive, but also pushing and challenging each student to test their limits,” Boyd said. While Boyd did not participate in any productions due to his commitment to athletics, his most memorable moment in Stroeh’s class was performing a monologue during a drama showcase.
