After two years of teaching at San Marin, math teacher Adam Green is leaving San Marin to teach at Bakersfield High School in the fall.
During his time at San Marin, Green has taught Geometry, Algebra II and Personal Finance.
He began teaching at San Marin in August of 2016 and will be leaving after the last day of school this year.
“It wasn’t an easy decision,” Green said. “I’ll be leaving behind the friends I’ve made here on campus, the relationships I’ve built with my students and the area I’ve grown to love over the past 10 years.”
Ever since the Santa Rosa fires last year, it has been hard for Green and his family to recover, especially with the increasing housing prices in the Bay Area.
He added that staying in the area any longer would be “illogical” and hopes the move will benefit his family.
“Teaching here at San Marin has been an experience I will always remember, and for which I will always be thankful,” Green said. “The students made me feel welcome from day one, my colleagues quickly became my friends, and the lessons I’ve learned here will last a lifetime.”
