Pony Express Book of the Week: ‘Six of Crows’ by Leigh Bardugo

Taking place in the Grishaverse, Six of Crows follows six main characters. Kaz, a thief with a cunning mind and a vendetta against someone who did him a wrong, Inej, a spy who can get anywhere undetected, stolen away from her family two years prior Jesper, a sharpshooter with a gambling problem, who had come from home to attend a university, Nina, a witch with special powers who got caught with her enemy, Matthias, a soldier recently out of prison for a crime he didn’t commit, and Wylan, a runaway who became a participant in the journey. Together, this unlikely gang of teens with dark pasts attempt to break into a heavily fortified prison in another country. Hired by a wealthy Merchant for 30 million dollars, they have to break out a man with knowledge that could destroy an entire country. Facing problems and ghosts from the past, this heist is the wildest one to ever be attempted.

This book is perfect for anyone seeking to go on a journey with intricate characters. Suspense, guesswork, and surprises are woven very well into this certainly unique story.
